The Semester is Almost Over!

I don't have a whole lot to report this week since I didn't have an observation scheduled. I did receive a response from Ms. Ontiveros at Fishers High School and I will be observing her one more time before the semester ends. During this observation I will be asking her if she would be interested in having a mentee for the next three semesters with the intention of student teaching. I would tell her she doesn't have to make a decision that moment, that I can send her some CoT materials so she can think about it, but to at least let me know if she would be interested in it so I can begin observing her on a regular basis and so she can get to know me better before committing. I didn't realize how fast a semester in CoT goes by, so I want to have an idea of where I'm headed next semester so I can lock in a mentor as soon as possible. I have a feeling she would be interested in being a mentor since she's young and a newer teacher, so she still has enthusiasm for teaching and is more open minded about incorporating technology and new teaching methods. I am anxious to see what she says! Other than that, I am attending the Art Education Association of Indiana annual fall convention at Hamilton Southeastern High School tomorrow! I'm excited to attend the different workshops and talks I registered for and to network with art educators from all over Indiana. It should be a fun time. I'm nervous about community shuffle this upcoming week, but Riley seems to have a pretty good handle on it so I'm trusting him. Anyway, that's about all!
