I have just finished spending approximately 5 hours setting up my CoT site on Wix and compiling evidence for the first expectation I feel I can complete from prior experience: Extracurricular Activities. I opted not to use google sites because I feel they lack aesthetic, which is important to me being an aspiring art teacher, plus I love designing websites on Wix anyways. I was worried that I had joined CoT too late, being a Junior and needing to apply for the TEP this upcoming March, but I think I'm going to do just fine! I love the group of people that I get to work with. They're all open, funny, and genuinely caring towards each other and have been welcoming towards and enthusiastic of the addition of new members. I am still nervous about finding a mentor teacher. I'm afraid none of the teachers in this area will live up to my high school ceramics teacher, Mr. Bieber, who inspired me to go into education. I would've loved to have him as mentor, but I know there is equally talented and enthusiastic teachers as him out there. Right now I'm just waiting for my Curriculum Vitae and personal statement to be reviewed before contacting schools. I'm looking at Bloomington High School North and South as they have large art departments. Hopefully I will be able to find some teachers to observe by the end of next week!
