I took this weekend to give myself some TLC. Friday went well at school. Unfortunately, it was an 80 min class period for my Year 7, but I knew I had to hold firm on the no clay for the rest of the week. Instead of working with clay, I decided to have them write down the rules and procedures while working with clay for when to pack up. I really should have done this at the beginning of the unit. We also looked at their homework which they brought in that day. They had to make an animal sculpture out of recycled materials and they turned out awesome! Overall, they did a really good job especially for being an 80 class with nothing stimulating to do on a Friday.
Friday was also Tarryn's last day. I definitely am going to miss having a younger comrade but interested to see how Leanne teaches and handles classroom management. I am so thankful to have had the past three weeks with her!

Later that night, Helen took me to Fish Mongers for dinner and it was the most delicious seafood I've ever had. Amazing.

Saturday and Sunday were full on beach days. I plopped down on the beach from 10-3 each day. I started and finished The Lilac Girls, a historical non-fiction novel. It felt good just to read and not worry about anything the whole day.

Saturday night, Helen's friend, Sarah, invited me out with her to watch her husband's band. Helen had work the next day, so I went ahead and went out. We went to this bar called the Rails and is was such a good vibe! A really diverse mix of people and Chris's band was amazing. Just a really cool atmosphere. It made me wish my friends were there to enjoy it with me. There are also two well known ladies who come to the Rails to go dancing every night. They are both in their late 90's and boy did they dance! Everyone had a great time!
